What Is So Unique About SMOK Nord Coils?

You have a few alternatives when it comes to SMOK Nord coils. Yet, when it comes to SMOK Nord coils, which is the best option? Let's look into it...

The SMOK Nord Coils is getting on in years, yet it remains a very popular vape. In fact, it is one of SMOK's most popular items, alongside the SMOK NOVO. This also applies to the slightly updated SMOK Nord 2 - people adore these pod vapes!

But what are your best alternatives for coils with the SMOK Nord?

First, let's go through ALL of the coil choices for the SMOK Nord that are currently available:
Mesh Coil with a Resistance of 0.6ohm (DTL)
1.4 ohm Coil (MTL)
1.4 ohm Ceramic (MTL)

SMOK Nord Coils At Their Finest

When it comes to coils for the SMOK Nord, you have three options: mesh, regular, and ceramic.

But which is the most effective?

As someone who has used an SMOK Nord for a good 12-18 months, I have some quite strong ideas on which coils are ideal for the SMOK Nord. All of my current suggestions for the best SMOK Nord coils are mentioned here (in order; so the worst of the lot is listed last). Keep in mind that I used hundreds of these coils over my time with the Nord, so these findings are based on hundreds of hours of use.

1.) SMOK Nord Mesh Coil 0.6ohm (DTL)

If you want the most flavour and the finest overall performance from your SMOK Nord, go with the 0.6ohm Mesh Coil (DTL).

During a 12-month period, this Nord coil was the most constant in terms of longevity, taste, and dependability of all of SMOK's Nord coils.

It is built for DTL, with a very limited lung hit, not like a vape tank, but it will gladly run Nic Salts juice and other varieties, such as slightly higher PG vape juice.

This is the coil to use if you want to vape without worry.

2.) SMOK Nord 1.4ohm Coil (MTL)

Since the SMOK Nord is a pod vape, and most pod vapes and pod vape consumers prefer MTL vaping, the 1.4ohm Coil (MTL) is a sensible option to use in the SMOK Nord.

Throughout my time with the Nord, I utilised the 1.4ohm Coil (MTL) around 75% of the time.

It, like the 0.6ohm Mesh Coil (DTL), is dependable, has a long lifespan, and provides superb taste as well as a pitch-perfect MTL draw.

This is the coil to use if you want to MTL vape on your Nord.

3.) SMOK Nord 1.4ohm Ceramic (MTL)

The 1.4ohm Ceramic MTL coil is the other MTL coil choice in the SMOK Nord lineup (MTL). Here's some advice: AVOID THIS LIKE THE PLAGUE.

I tried and tried again with many packs of these coils, hoping for better flavour, but all I got were dry hits.

To say this coil is poor would be an understatement; it is worse than bad. Over the course of a year, I spent roughly $60 on these coils, and not a single one of them ever functioned.

When they did, the flavour was muffled and flavourless. As a result, if you want to utilise nic salts vape juice - and I mean high-strength stuff - I'd go with the MTL 1.4ohm coil head.

In general, I like the 0.6ohm mesh coils for the SMOK Nord since they provide more flavour.

These are the ONLY nic salts vape fluids that we are currently using in our SMOK NOVO pod vapes.

Want to extend the life of your SMOK Nord coils? It is critical to use high-quality vape juice.

SMOK Nord Coils has the longest lifespan. I've been using the SMOK Nord on and off since roughly 2019, and I've probably gone through hundreds of coils in that time. As previously said, I've never had much luck with SMOK's ceramic coils for the Nord - I just can't make them cooperate.

Ceramic SMOK Nord coils appear to degrade more faster than normal and mesh coils. It remains to be seen if this is due to SMOK's known QC concerns or simply my poor luck. Yet, I believe it has something to do with how SMOK develops the coil.

In my experience, the coil that lasts the longest is either the 0.6ohm mesh coil or the normal 1.4ohm MTL coil. These are the coils I use the most, and they are typically quite constant in terms of performance and longevity.

What is the best-case scenario? You should expect a change every 8-12 days. If you receive a bad batch, which happens from time to time, you're looking at hours. And it stinks. Save your receipts and ALWAYS request a refund when this occurs.

And when it comes to SMOK coils, even SMOK Nord coils, there is the rare bad batch. I've had maybe seven or eight bad batches of SMOK Nord coils in my time with the device.

Let's Summarize the Best SMOK Nord Coil...

If you want to use high-strength nic salts in your SMOK Nord, stick to the 1.4ohm standard coil.

If you're planning to use 50/50 vape juice or nic salts juice with a strength of 25MG or less, the 0.6ohm mesh coil is fine. I recommend avoiding the ceramic SMOK Nord coil like the plague; it is the worst in terms of flavour, quality control, and performance.

What's the bottom line? Stick with the usual 1.4ohm coil and the 0.6ohm mesh coil while vaping with the SMOK Nord and you shouldn't have too many troubles.
