It's nice to see a wide variety of vape mods and box mods hitting the market. Different devices work better for different people, so I love seeing companies offering both regulated and unregulated tube mod options. One such example is the Voopoo Argus GT that we will be reviewing today. The Argus GT, which was just recently released by Voopoo, is a high-end (price-wise) unregulated tube mod with an intriguing design.
The first thing you'll notice when you'll open up the box containing the Argus GT was how well packaged it was. Every part of this device has been wrapped in protective foam and there are several layers of packaging between each component; as if Voopoo knew that they had something special on their hands.
Look & Design Voopoo Argus GT
The mod is very unique looking; it sort of has a steampunk feel to it, but I'm not sure if that was actually the intention. Whatever the case, the Argus GT does look like something straight out of Victorian England (if that's your thing). It consists of four parts: The body, the top cap, the atomizer, and the bottom cap.
The entire device is made out of aircraft grade aluminum so it should be surprisingly robust considering its "single tube" design. For this reason also, it only weighs around 50 grams so you can easily carry this vape with you anywhere you go without feeling weighed down by all that extra metal in your pocket. Speaking about carrying around this mod, You’ll find that it is quite easy to do thanks to its ergonomic design.
Top Features - Voopoo Argus GT
The Argus GT sports a spring-loaded 510 connection so you will be able to use any atomizer that can fit on top of this device without any issues. The mod has ventilation holes on both the bottom and top caps, which should keep this thing from overheating even when chain vaping.
The top cap features two wide cutouts, revealing two massive cyclops airflow slots, which are perfectly aligned with the atomizer's coil setup (two parallel Clapton coils). This allows for direct airflow towards the tip of your RDA/RTA which results in very good flavor production. To make things easier for vapers who are trying out the Argus GT for the first time, a lot of reviewers have noted that this mod was designed to work with atomizers that require a 2.5mm or 3mm diameter drip tip.
Performance
Vaping on the Argus GT is a real pleasure. I haven't experienced any spit-backs and/or dry hits, even when vaping at high wattages (I get very intense throat hits from my Aspire Triton tanks on this device). In addition to its excellent performance, you'll really like how this device looks in person; it's nothing short of amazing.
You'll feel that this mod is a great option for vapers who enjoy vaping over 100 watts, but if you're looking for something capable of handling temperature control, this device might not be right for you. In our opinion, the Voopoo Argus GT is very ergonomic and its performance is beyond reproach so if you don't mind spending a few extra bucks on a powerful yet simple-to-use tube vape. We highly recommend picking one up before they sell out! You can check out some affordable deals on this mod at Vapor Boss.
Cons
In terms of cons, not many users were able to find flaws with the Argus GT and most of them said that they would gladly purchase one in the future. The Voopoo Argus GT is available at most vape stores, but you can get it even cheaper if you look around some more.
